Mr. Jones wrote this book because he believes that Christian Nationalism is a danger to this country. A danger to our democracy. His background growing up in a very conservative Southern Baptist Church and then coming into his own thinking when in college gives him a good foundation upon which to examine and critique fundamental Christianity- especially in its iterations as nationalism. It is a good book to round out our readings in this program because it comes to grips with what is happening now -in the present- in our country.
