Stamped from the Beginning

We, whites, do not know the real history of Black people in the US. Stamped from the Beginning tells the story of how blacks were “stamped/constructed” as not white. Dr. Kendi tells the history with compassion. It reads like a story. A story that is not written about in history books but is necessary for us to know and understand before we can change not only our thoughts but our souls.

By Ibram X. Kendi

A deep (and often disturbing) chronicling of how anti-black thinking has entrenched itself in the fabric of American society not solely through ignorance, but through a rationalization of inequity in institutional practices.
